National Signing Day is less than three weeks away, but the Sooners didn't have to wait to get another great player.

Former Iowa running back Brandon Wegher is transferring to Oklahoma after sitting out the 2010 season for personal reasons.  Wegher played at Iowa as a freshman in 2009 and had 641 yards and eight touchdowns.

The addition of Wegher means yet another great running back will be fighting for carries in the Sooners' backfield.  Already, the Sooners have Roy Finch, Brennan Clay, Jermie Calhoun, and Jonathan Miller ready to go and replace DeMarco Murray.

Oklahoma also will be bringing in recruit Brandon Williams, widely regarded as one of the best running backs in the 2011 recruiting class.

The question with Wegher is whether or not him sitting out the 2010 season will qualify as the required year to wait for transfers to play.

The certain thing is that the Oklahoma backfield is going to be very crowded in 2011.  And fully loaded.
